How To Quit Smoking - What Is An Analysis Of Smoking Control
This is a list on the ways to set your mind to the correct place so that you make a very knowing choice to stop smoking. This is really a resolution that if you engage your brain it just does not make any sense to continue with your smoking at all. By fabricating a plan and following it and by knowing what you are going to get as a reward for stopping this habit you will inspire hope yourself and remind yourself even when you are tempted that the payoff is so much more for breaking the habit than to continue with behavior that is costing you dearly both financially and health wise.
I didn't think I would be able to stop my smoking habit. It seemed like I was always waiting until the stress in my life was at a minimum to begin to stop and of course that just never seemed to happen. I used my smoking as an anxiety reliever and I just didn't know what to substitute it with. I was hesitant of gaining weight and it seemed like every time I stopped smoking or even attempted smoking control, I replaced my smoking with eating and as soon as I saw a weight gain over five pound I was once again smoking.
It was not easy but I started some smoking control by replacing additional activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to break the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my decision to smoke or to stop. In other words what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to keeping my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to maintain one you cant really justify in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you love.
After I made my list I hung this list up on my shower mirror and also on my bedroom door. I wanted each day to see my reasons for changing my behavior this helped considerably since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish day by day. When ever you stop smoking you have to foresee there will be times when you will error but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
When ever I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to substitute eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I normally wouldn't do for myself. In the event I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I shall not say that I don't think about smoking occasionally and almost certainly always will but I always tell myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes don't stink of smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the hard cash you would have used for punching cigarettes into a bank account and watch it grow.
